AWARDS AND RECOGNITIONS OF CHI PHI FRATERNITY:
Each spring Chi Phi distributes awards application packets to every Chapter and Colony. Applications are then reviewed by an appointed Awards Committee and awards are presented each summer at the annual Chi Phi Congress.
THE THOMAS A. GEHRING CHAPTER EXCELLENCE AWARDS
The Congress of 1980 authorized the awarding of the Thomas A. Gehring Chapter Excellence Awards as a tribute to the late Dr. Thomas A. Gehring, Iota Delta 1960, a former Grand Council Officer. Each year these awards are presented to Chi Phi's most outstanding Chapters based on the Fraternity's Standards for Chapter Excellence. Long term planning, goal setting, and unwavering standards are at the core of any Gehring Chapter.
BATES BLOCK CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT AWARD
This awards is presented annually to the Chapter that has demonstrated the best participation, visibility, and involvement in the leadership of extracurricular activities, student functions and interrelated programs that promote good will and strengthen their respective college or university.

BEN WAYNE GREIG SCHOLARSHIP CHAIRMAN AWARD
This award serves to honor the Chapter Scholastic Chairman who has helped his Chapter have great success in the classroom and put academic excellence at the forefront of his Brothers' priorities.

WILLIAM D. PARR CHAPTER ZETA AWARD
As North America's oldest social men's Fraternity, Chi Phi maintains one of the most colorful and intriguing histories in the Interfraternal world. Had it not been for excellent chapter historians, however, we would have little knowledge about our Fraternity's roots. This award was created to recognize the Chapter historian who most successfully document's his Chapter's history for the previous academic year. It is named for William D. Parr, Pi (Kentucky Military Institute) 1880, a former Grand Zeta, in recognition of the importance that our customs and heritage have within our Fraternity.

ATHLETIC EXCELLENCE AWARD
This award is designed to recognize Chi Phi Brothers who demonstrate excellence in athleticism, bringing distinction upon themselves and the Fraternity.

OUTSTANDING ALUMNI NEWSLETTER AWARD
Recognizes the Chapter that has most effectively, regularly and appropriately communicated to its alumni through more traditional means.

OUTSTANDING WEBSITE AWARD
Each fall, USCL conducts a survey of new freshman collecting data from first-year students at more than 1,000 campuses. Approximately 20,000 freshman complete the survey. Recent survey results determined that over 85% of all incoming freshman made the decision to participate in Greek Life based on the chapter websites. In the area of fraternity recruitment, retention and public relations, use of the web is critical to the overall health of the Chapter. This award recognizes the chapter that has successfully used their website to communicate to current and potential members, while maintaining Chi Phi's Internet policy.

OUTSTANDING COLONY RECRUITMENT AWARD
This award is given to the Colony with the highest percentage of its membership recruited over the past academic year. Colonies opened this year by the National Staff are not eligible.

OUTSTANDING CHAPTER RECRUITMENT AWARD
This is award is given to the Chapter with the highest percentage of its membership recruited over the past academic year.
